    From the Principal

Welcome back to school.  I am very excited about the 2014-2015 school year.  Our theme for the year is Living the 7 Habits in the spotlight!  This year we will spotlight our students, parents, faculty, and accomplishments.  The first 7 weeks of school our students will learn about the 7 Habits of Happy Kids.  They will create a classroom mission statement and begin setting up their leadership notebooks.

Parents, please discuss the 7 Habits with your children at home.  When your child comes home from school, have them teach you about the habits that they have learned in school.

We are planning to have a productive school year, and we look forward to working with all of our families.  Remember Together Everyone Achieves More.  Let's work as a TEAM so everyone can be successful!  As always, thank you for supporting Jackson School, where we are growing LEADERS.

    Educationally yours,
    Matia Goodwin

7 Habits of Jackson School Leaders

    1. Be Proactive:
You are in charge of your actions.

    2. Begin with the end in mind:
Have a plan, set goals, and achieve them.

    3. Put first things first:
    Work first, then play.

    4. Think Win-Win:
    Everyone can win.

    5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood:
    Listen before you speak.

    6. Synergize:
    Working together is better.

    7. Sharpen the Saw:
    Balance works best.

We are growing a community of leaders by engaging one person at a time.
