    From the Principal

I would like to wish all of our Jackson School Families a very Happy New Year.  I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break and received a lot of rest.  It is time to kick off our 2nd semester of this school year and I am excited about continuing to live the 7 Habits here at Jackson School.  As we begin the New Year, I believe that this is a good time to reflect on our progress and make plans to ensure that we achieve our goals.  I want all of us to focus on making improvement.  We have to have a plan, in order to make improvement.  Remember to put first things first and write down your plan of action.  For example, I really need to make improvements with the amount of time I spend exercising.  Right now, I do not exercise at all, so I have started this year with a plan to exercise at least three days a week.  I have written it down on my calendar, and  I am going to keep up with the days and minutes that I spend exercising.  I will let you know next month, how I am doing with my goal.  I want you to do the same thing at home.  Create a goal and practice score boarding your progress.  I know that you will begin seeing results if you remain focused.

    Educationally yours,
    Matia Goodwin

    GROWING LEADERS

7 Habits of Jackson School Leaders

    1. Be Proactive:
You are in charge of your actions.

    2. Begin with the end in mind:
Have a plan, set goals, and achieve them.

    3. Put first things first:
    Work first, then play.

    4. Think Win-Win:
    Everyone can win.

    5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood:
    Listen before you speak.

    6. Synergize:
    Working together is better.

    7. Sharpen the Saw:
    Balance works best.
